Calendar Invitation Manager for Android

The Android Gmail is a great app for productivity, except one major flaw. It doesn’t let you accept meeting requests or any other calendar invitations you receive as email attachments.

I made this app out of frustration as the other attachment handlers need unnecessary permissions or mess up the meeting description.

Calendar Invitation Manager simply handles any meeting invitations you receive in the iCalendar (i.e. .ics .ical .ifb) format. This is the de facto calendar format and is used by Microsoft Outlook, Hotmail, Lotus Notes et al.

The invitation usually comes through in your Gmail as an attachment called ‘invite.ics’. Pressing the view button for the attachment should simply present your standard Calendar App’s Event screen, where you can add it to your calendar. If you have other Email Attachment Handlers installed, you will be presented with a choice box as shown in the screenshot, where you can pick Calendar Invitation Manager.

Please check out Calendar Invitation Manager in the Google Play Store, and leave any comments or suggestions below.
